Blessors of Israel Podcast Episode 80: The Rapture, the Restrainer, and the Return of Jesus Christ

In Acts 17:1-9, Luke the physician records that the Apostle Paul visited Thessalonica for three Sabbaths in order to explain and give “evidence that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead.” A large number of God-fearing Greeks and prominent women came to faith in Jesus Christ. This lead to the Jews becoming jealous so they formed a mob and attacked the house of Jason, where it appears Paul was staying. When the mob could not find Paul, they dragged Jason before the city authorities at the Roman Forum, where they declared about Paul and his companions, “These men who have upset the world have come here also; and Jason has welcomed them, and they all act contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, Jesus.”

During this episode of the Blessors of Israel Podcast, Dr. Matthew Dodd offers insights from the very location, the Roman Forum in Thessalonica, now called Thessaloniki, where Jason was dragged before the city authorities. In addition, Dr. Dodd provides an eschatological overview of the end times from Paul’s letters to the church in Thessalonica by addressing the Rapture of the Church, the Restrainer, and the return of Jesus Christ. Finally, he provides an update concerning Israel and its war against Hamas.
