Bodycam: Officer Shootout With Suspect Wearing Bulletproof Vest Armed With Rifle With Drum Magazine.

Jacksonville, Duval County, FL --- The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office released body camera, surveillance camera, pictures and details about an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. on Ribault Avenue in the Osceola Forest neighborhood.

According to police, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officer Adam C. Gaulding was working a traffic deployment in the area when he attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle driven by the suspect, later identified as 33-year-old Brandon Timothy White. White was slow to stop, driving past several safe places, until he pulled into a driveway. White immediately began firing his handgun at Officer Gaulding, hitting the officer in his foot. Officer Gaulding fired his gun at White as Officer Gaulding moved towards a position of cover. White then grabbed a rifle and attempted to get out of his vehicle. Officer Gaulding again fired his gun, incapacitating White. That’s when additional officers arrived on scene and provided emergency medical care to White. White was taken to a local hospital where he died.
Crime scene detectives determined White was wearing body armor when he shot Officer Gaulding.

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Adam Gaulding was released from the hospital UF Health post-surgery a day after the incident.

“I think it’s very important to stress, this guy had a bulletproof vest. He had bad intentions," Waters said afterward. "This guy had a drum magazine inside that rifle. He had bad intentions. He had another pistol on the seat of his car. So I don’t know what he was going to do, I don’t know what his plans were, but thankfully our officer was able to stop him from doing something to somebody else." commented Sheriff T.K. Waters the same day the incident happened.
