Spectrum First Launch /
March 30, 2025
Isar Aerospace's Spectrum launch vehicle launched on March 30, 2025, at 10:30 UTC (12:30 CEST) for its first test flight, the "Going Full Spectrum" mission, from the Andøya spaceport in Norway. Spectrum is a two-stage orbital launch vehicle powered by nine liquid oxygen/liquid propane Aquila engines in the first stage and one Aquila vacuum engine in the second stage. Spectrum is designed to launch payloads of up to 1,000 kg into low Earth orbit (LEO) and up to 700 kg into sun-synchronous orbit (SSO). Approximately 18 seconds after launch, Spectrum appeared to lose attitude control, and the flight was aborted.
