The Great Debate: Germ Theory -vs- Terrain Theory:

Germ theory, popularised by Louis Pasteur, focuses on external pathogens (bacteria & viruses) invading our body. Germ theory is the accepted theory among Doctors & the Medical establishment.

We anxiously do battle with germs, destroying them with antibacterial agents & creating superbugs; our beneficial bacteria are the casualties of war as we neglect our greatest weapon, our own terrain, our own body.

We focus on immunization instead of creating a healthy ecosystem, effectively externalizing the responsibility for our health & wellbeing to doctors & Big Pharma.

Terrain theory, coined by Antoine Béchamp in the 1850s, focuses on the terrain, i.e. the body, & puts the emphasis on maintaining a state of wellness & internal balance to stave off disease. Once this terrain is compromised it gives the disease causing pathogens, whether internal or external, a chance to proliferate, leading to disease.

Our innate immunity, includes the microbiomes of the gut & on the skin. Good nutrition positively influences gut bacteria & improves immunity. The skin microbiome stays intact by avoiding chemical cleaners & antibacterial agents, toxic chemicals, pesticides, herbicides & even preservatives can disrupt our natural bacteria, especially when ingested.
