(Allahumma ahillahu ‘alayna bil-amni wal-iman, was-salamati wal-islam, wat-tawfiqi lima tuhibbu wa tardha, rabbuna wa rabbukallah.)

This translates to:
Allah is the Most Great.
O Allah, bring us the new moon with security and Faith,
with peace and in Islam,
and in harmony with what our Lord loves and what pleases Him.
Our Lord and your Lord is Allah.

Reciting this prayer is a beautiful way to seek blessings for the new month and to express gratitude for the completion of Ramadan. It is also a moment of reflection, as Muslims look back at their month of fasting, worship, and devotion, asking Allah to accept their deeds and grant them forgiveness.

Once the moon is sighted and the announcement is made, the excitement for Eid begins. Families start preparing for the festivities, which include wearing new clothes, performing the special Eid prayer, giving charity (Zakat al-Fitr), and visiting loved ones.
