GT beat MI by 36 runs in the 8th match of IPL-25 at Ahmedabad.

The 9th Match of Men’s Tata IPL-2025 was played between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titians at Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad Gujarat on 29th March, 2025. In this match Gujarat Titians defeated Mumbai Indians by 36 runs. In this match Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Gujarat Titians while batting first scored 196 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs and gave target of 197 runs to Mumbai Indians to win. In reply Mumbai Indians could score only 160 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by 50 runs.
Gujarat Titians started superbly and their openers batted with authority and added 78 runs in 8.3 overs only and laid solid foundation for the big score. Shubman Gill was first to go out caught by Naman Dhir of the bowling of Hardik Pandya scoring quickfire 38 runs from 27 balls hitting 4 fours and 1 six.
Jos Butler was second to go caught by Ryan Rickelton of the bowling of Mujeeb Ur Rahman scoring 39 runs from 24 balls hitting 5 fours and 1 six. Shahrukh Khan was out caught by Tilak verma of the bowling of Hardik Pandya after scoring only 9 runs only.
Sai Sudharsan played a gem of innings and top scored with 63 runs from 41 balls hitting 4 fours and 2 sixes. Sherfane Rutherford scored 18 runs from 11 balls hitting 2 sixes.
Rashid Khan made 6 runs and Rahul Tewatia was run out without scoring. Kagiso Rabada remained not out on 7 runs.
Hardik Pandya bowled well and took 2 wickets. One wicket each was taken by Trent Boult,Deepak Chahar,Mujeeb Ur Rahman,and Satyanarayana Raju. GT scored 196 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs.
In reply MI made 160 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by 36 runs. Rohit Sharma was first to go out bold by Mohammed Siraj scoring only 8 runs only. Then Mohammed Siraj bold also Riyan Rickelton who scored only 6 runs.At one stage Mumbai was reeling at 35 for 2 wickets in 4.3 overs.
Then Tilak Verma was removed by Prasidh Krishna caught by Rahul Tewatia after contributing 39 balls from 36 balls hitting 3 fours and one six. Impact substitute Robin Minz contributed only 3 runs.
Surya Kumar Yadav was caught by Shubman Gill of the bowling of Prasidh Krishna after contributing 48 runs from 28 balls hitting 1 four and 4 sixes. Then Kagiso Rabada took the price wicket of Hardik Pandya caught by Mohammad Siraj who contributed only 11 runs from 17 balls hitting one four.
Mitchell Santner remained not out on 18 runs with Naman Dhir also not out on 18 runs but could not won the match for MI.
Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna took 2 wickets each.One wicket each was taken by Kagiso Rabada and Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore. MI could score only 160 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by 36 runs. Prasidh Krishna was adjudged the Player of the Match.
