🏡🐕 Exploring Scotland’s Hidden Gems: Guisachan House, Dunblane, Dog Falls & Beauly!

Get ready for another adventure as we uncover history, breathtaking landscapes, and heartwarming moments across Scotland! 💙✨

Our journey begins at the hauntingly beautiful ruins of Guisachan House 🏚️🌿, once a grand Highland estate and the birthplace of the Golden Retriever! 🐕💛 Built in the mid-19th century by Lord Tweedmouth, this now-crumbling mansion was where the first Golden Retrievers were bred in the 1860s. Though nature has reclaimed much of the site, its history remains as golden as the beloved dogs it gave the world!

Next, Katie takes a trip to the charming town of Dunblane 🏡☕—a picturesque place with cobbled streets, quaint shops, and a deep sense of Scottish heritage. Nestled along the banks of the River Allan 🌊🏞️, this fast-flowing river has long been a lifeblood of the town, winding through lush greenery and past scenic walking trails.

While in Dunblane, Katie meets up with her mum for a cosy lunch 🥗🍵 before they wander to the magnificent Dunblane Cathedral ⛪✨. Dating back to the 12th century, this stunning medieval cathedral is a masterpiece of Scottish Gothic architecture, with towering stone pillars and breathtaking stained-glass windows. Having survived the turbulence of the Reformation, it remains a place of peace and history, standing proudly as one of Scotland’s most significant ecclesiastical sites.

From there, we head deep into the heart of Glen Affric to visit Dog Falls 🏞️💦—a mesmerising cascade surrounded by ancient Caledonian pine forests. This rugged yet serene spot has been shaped by thousands of years of glacial activity, creating a landscape that feels almost untouched by time. With its rushing waters and dramatic scenery, it’s the perfect place to pause, breathe, and take in Scotland’s wild beauty.

Our final stop takes us to the delightful town of Beauly 🏘️☀️, whose name comes from the French phrase “beau lieu”—meaning “beautiful place” (and trust us, it lives up to its name! 😍). We indulge in a delicious treat at Café Biagiotti ☕🍰, a charming Italian-style café offering some of the best coffee and cakes in the Highlands! With a history steeped in passion for authentic Italian flavours, this little gem has become a beloved spot for both locals and visitors.

No trip to Beauly would be complete without a visit to the stunning ruins of Beauly Priory 🏰🌿. Founded in the 13th century by French monks, this once-thriving monastery is now a romantic, ivy-clad ruin where history whispers through its ancient stones. A peaceful sanctuary, it’s easy to imagine the monks who once lived here, tending their gardens and finding solace in the tranquil setting.

🌟 From grand ruins to cascading waterfalls, medieval cathedrals to charming cafés, this vlog is packed with beauty, history, and adventure. So, grab a cuppa and come along for the journey!
