Method:
Peel the boiled potatoes & cut them into quarters, the pieces should be big.
Set a frypan over high flame, add oil & let it get hot.
Add cumin & mustard seeds, let them crackle & then add curry leaves, green chilli & ginger garlic paste, stir & cook over high flame for 1-2 minutes.
Next, add tamarind pulp, sugar & a splash of hot water, cook for 3-4 minutes or until the raw smell of tamarind goes away.
Lower the flame & add all the powdered spices along with salt & a splash of hot water, stir well & then cook over high flame until the oil gets separated.
Further add the cut potato pieces & coat them with the prepared masala, taste & adjust salt if required & add fresh coriander. Your delicious Mumbai style Chatpata Laal Batata is ready.
I like to serve these with some pav, directly toasted over flame, you can also serve it as a starter with the chutney.
