‼Safety First‼
Firearm safety is critical in clay shooting. Follow these essential rules:
🚨 Keep the Muzzle Pointed in a Safe Direction. Always be mindful of where your shotgun is aimed.
🚨 Finger Off the Trigger Until Ready – Prevent accidental discharges by maintaining trigger discipline.
🚨 Be Aware of Others – Stay alert to fellow shooters’ positions and movements.
🚨 Use Proper Ammunition – Double-check that you're using the correct shells for your firearm.
🚨 Wear Protective Gear – Never skip eye and ear protection.
At 2nd Amendment Armory, we have the essential equipment.
✅ Shotgun: Over-and-under and semi-automatic shotguns are popular for their reliability. A well-fitted shotgun enhances accuracy and comfort.
✅ Ammunition – 12-gauge or 20-gauge shells with #7.5, #8, or #9 shot are ideal. Experiment to find what works best for you.
✅ Eye & Ear Protection – Safety first! Always wear protective gear to prevent injury.
✅ Choke Tubes – Adjusting your shotgun’s choke affects shot spread:
Skeet Choke (wider spread) for skeet shooting.
Modified/Full Choke (tighter spread) for trap shooting.
🧐Understanding🧐
💪Mastering Skeet Shooting💪
Skeet shooting requires fluid movement and precision. Here’s how to improve:
🔹 Stance – Keep feet shoulder-width apart, weight slightly forward. A balanced stance helps control movement.
🔹 Shotgun Mounting – Raise the shotgun to your cheek first, then position it firmly against your shoulder. This ensures proper sight alignment.
🔹 Tracking the Target – Keep both eyes open and track the target smoothly—don’t "spot-shoot." Instead, follow its flight path naturally.
🔹 Lead & Follow-Through – Shoot slightly ahead of the moving target to compensate for speed. Continue your swing after pulling the trigger to maintain accuracy.
