Acoustic Levitation

The video shows an acoustic levitation chamber, which was designed and built in 1987 by NASA, with the aim of testing the effects of microgravity. The 13 inches (30cm) cube made of plexiglass has 3 speakers.

By applying a continuous and resonant sound wave of 600 Hertz and adjusting the amplitude and phase ratio of the 3 emitters, it is possible to control levitation and movement in the 3 axes (x, y and z).
