Was the Earth Made in 6 Days ? How Old is the Earth?
From a biblical Christian perspective, the idea that the Earth is millions or billions of years old directly contradicts the clear timeline found in Scripture. According to Genesis, God created the heavens and the Earth in six literal days, and the genealogies from Adam to Christ suggest an Earth that is only a few thousand years old. Many Christians reject carbon dating and other radiometric methods because they rely on assumptions—like initial conditions, constant decay rates, and closed systems—that cannot be proven. When those assumptions are wrong, the dating results become unreliable. In fact, there are many examples of carbon-14 being found in supposedly "millions-of-years-old" fossils and coal, which shouldn't be possible if the Earth were truly that old. These findings support the biblical timeline and cast serious doubt on mainstream dating methods and the evolutionary timescale.
