Canelo Rips David Benavidez's Resume: He's Accomplished Nothing

In a recent interview with Fight Hype, Canelo Alvarez spoke candidly about his career and legacy. He answered questions about his relationship with Turki Alashikh and why that relationship was initially rocky.

"What changed between Turki and me was that we could speak in person. Once we did that, everything was fine. In the beginning, there was miscommunication because of mediators. Now me and Turki are on excellent terms, end quote.

At the 2:40 mark of the interview, Canelo was asked about David Benavidez claim he pursued a fight with Canelo. Here is what Canelo had to say:

"You know, I don't know how to answer this question, but the way he talks, he acts like he's Superman, and he's very disrespectful not just with me, but with everybody.

He's accomplished nothing; he's not even a champion, and he's not in my weight class. There are a lot of things there that don't make sense. In this part of my career, I can do whatever I want.

You guys can't take anything from my legacy. Looking at my resume, you'll see I fought everybody out there." End Quote.

Fighthype asked Canelo if there was a fight in his career that he would do differently. Canelo replied that he would do nothing different and that everything in his career happened for a reason.

Canelo says the most important thing is what you learn about that experience. It's not a loss; it's a lesson learned. Let's listen to the interview to see if Canelo has a point.
