McBarge, a former floating McDonald’s, is sinking into a BC river

The McBarge is sinking into a watery grave.

The vessel, known as the ‘Friendship 500,’ served as a floating McDonald’s restaurant on False Creek during Vancouver's Expo 86 but has sat empty ever since.

Now it appears it is heading to the bottom of the Fraser River.

As the vessel sinks to a watery grave, the growing problem of derelict vessels in B.C. is getting renewed attention.
