Suno - When You Play It Back

So you've probably heard some version of this old joke before: "What do you get if you play a country song backward? You get your dog back, you get your truck back, you get your wife back, you get your house back..." This song is my little joke about what would happen if that old joke could somehow be taken literally.

Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Lost my dog and my old rusted truck,
Farm went dry, felt outta luck;
But I heard a secret, an old country myth:
Play it backwards, you'll get a gift.

[Chorus]
When you play a country song in reverse,
You beat every heartbreak, every curse:
Get your dog, get your truck, get your life on track;
Even get your sweet loving wife back.

[Verse 2]
Needle on vinyl, spin back 'round;
Suddenly my dog is safe and sound.
Tail's a-waggin', slobber on my face;
Everything's startin' to fall into place.

[Chorus]
When you play a country song in reverse,
You beat every heartbreak, every curse:
Get your dog, get your truck, get your life on track;
Even get your sweet loving wife back.

[Verse 3]
Truck's out front, headlights so bright;
Engine purrin', roaring through the night.
Fields are green, rain comin' down;
Smilin' farm, no trace of a frown.

[Chorus]
When you play a country song in reverse,
You beat every heartbreak, every curse:
Get your dog, get your truck, get your life on track;
Even get your sweet loving wife back.

[Verse 4]
She walked back in through that ol' front door;
Said she missed me like never before.
Held her close, felt that warm embrace;
A backward tune saved our grace.

[Instrumental Bridge]

[Chorus]
When you play a country song in reverse,
You beat every heartbreak, every curse:
Get your dog, get your truck, get your life on track;
Even get your sweet loving wife back.
