Canadians say illegals receive too many benefits, sparking a national debate over immigration policy and government spending. A new report from the Canadian Museum for Human Rights reveals that 56% of Canadians believe refugees and asylum seekers get excessive federal support, with only 16% disagreeing. Meanwhile, trust in the federal government’s immigration policy sits at just 14%. With 47% saying there are too many immigrants and 63% wanting more focus on integration, Trudeau’s immigration model faces heavy criticism. As the number of undocumented migrants nears half a million and welfare payouts reach $7,787 annually for some non-citizens, public frustration is growing. Even former Immigration Minister Marc Miller admitted, “those folks are not welcome” if they enter illegally—starkly contrasting Trudeau’s infamous #WelcomeToCanada post. Is it time for a reset?
