Fishing the Salt River Arizona for Sonora Sucker Fish and Rainbow Trout

On our trip to Arizona, we made sure to stop by the Salt River and fish for Sonora Suckers. We went to a couple national parks with parking lots, bathrooms, and hiking trails with easy access to the Salt River.

We had plenty of bites fishing with Earthworms on small hooks with split shot weights about 6 inches above the hook on 6lb line. We landed one Sonora Sucker and caught a handful of stocked Rainbow trout averaging 12-14 inches.
