Episode 159 - The Miami Tour: Company Town (Part III)

The CIA coming to town meant big business - by some estimates, $70,000,000 worth - to anyone or anything involved in shipbuilding in the Miami area.

The tragic stories of the anti-Castro cabal involve the sacrificial lambs - the Cuban exile paramilitary soldiers - who were set up to fail, forcing a US military intervention, followed by a US political puppet regime. Betrayed first by Castro and the Cuban Revolution, they were betrayed again by the Kennedy Administration. Finally, they were betrayed yet again by the CIA. This sad and tragic story is told at the Bay of Pigs Museum in Miami.

The Neutrality Act was a nothingburger during the heydays of Operation Mongoose. Then it became a leverage instrument used against the same figures when Operation Mongoose suddenly went out of vogue. Selective enforcement of the law is not a new thing in Washington D.C.
