A domesticated magpie is already in the festive spirit - and has learned to squawk 'Merry Christmas.'

The chirpy chappy has picked up the seasonal greeting, mimicking his owners Steve Rostron and Janine MacLean as they get ready for Yuletide. Artist Steve, 45, told how Mike came out with the phrase after picking it up from listening to those around him and listening to his favourite radio station, Classic FM.
