​Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez was sentenced to five years in prison for attempted murder following a 2022 incident where he pursued and fired at Harry Goularte, the man accused of molesting his four-year-old son. The high-speed chase resulted in Velasquez injuring Goularte's stepfather, Paul Bender, who was also in the vehicle. Velasquez pleaded no contest to charges including attempted murder and felony assault. Despite the five-year sentence, he is expected to serve approximately one year due to credit for time already spent in jail and on home confinement.
