New Horse! (What a First Time Buyer Should Look For in a Horse)

Meet Phantom Power! 🐴 She’s a retired racehorse (an off-the-track Thoroughbred) that I’m training to become a confident jumper or dressage horse. Join me on this journey as I post weekly videos showing her progress—from an anxious, untrained mare to a willing, well-trained partner.

If you love horses or want to learn how to train one yourself, this series is for you! My training method focuses on building trust, improving movement, and helping the horse feel happy and confident. You’ll see Phantom go from tense and nervous to a relaxed horse that greets me at the gate!

In this video, you’ll learn:
✔️ How to assess a new horse in its first week
✔️ Ways to calm an anxious horse with bad habits (like head bobbing or separation anxiety)
✔️ How to help a weak horse get stronger, especially after having a foal
✔️ Groundwork exercises to teach a horse to lead calmly

Phantom raced at 3, had foals at 4 & 5, and is now starting fresh at 6. Restarting a horse isn’t always easy, but I’ll show you how to work through old habits and build a strong foundation. Follow along and watch Phantom’s transformation! 🌟

Let me know in the comments what you think of this video! This is my first YouTube video, and I’d love your help. Tell me what you like and what you want to see more of on this equestrian channel! 😊🐴
