Coyotes Pack spotted by American Akita!

Kinjo the Akita spots a pack of coyotes passing through the common ground behind my house!

He was out on his line before bed to go to the bathroom and I went out to get him inside. He suddenly focused on something out in the field and ran about 20 feet towards it. I was thinking it was just deer, as it usually is, but Kinjo is so used to the deer that it would be unusual for him to be THAT focused on them. So I grabbed my spotlight flashlight and shined it out in the field.

Forgive the light and my phone camera for not being focused on the same spot. I had a phone in one hand and the light in the other, and with the coyotes ranging between 300-500 feet away from me it was hard to keep them both aligned.

I joke in the video about Kinjo going out there and showing them who's territory it was, but he was actually on his line. The most he could have gone is maybe 150 feet out there before the line stopped him. I have no fear that they coyotes would harm him, but the reverse is more likely true. Kinjo would hurt them. He's not fond of other dogs and I think the coyotes would have read his body language and would not have gotten close to him at all. He's as big if not bigger than 3 full grown coyotes. Plus, my female Akita was right behind me watching from behind the storm door. There was zero concern or worry. The worst that would likely happen is the coyotes would scurry into the woods.
