How to Waterglass Eggs - Food, Faith, and Fortunes

Today we are sharing the process to Water Glass farm fresh eggs. Make sure you are using unwashed clean farm fresh eggs for this process. If the eggs have already been washed or refrigerated you CAN NOT use this process!

What You Need:
Farm Fresh Unwashed Eggs
Pickling Lime
Covered Container (Jar or Bucket)

What is the Water Glass method for Eggs?
"Water glassing is an age-old method of preserving eggs, and when done right, it can be a safe and effective way to store eggs for up to 18 months. However, it is crucial to use clean, unwashed eggs and only food-grade hydrated lime in the process."*

1 Quart of water to 1 Ounce weighted of Pickling Lime is the ratio. We are using a digital food scale that measures in ounces. You can also use a mailing scale, or other scale, as long as it measures in ounces.
