Mass Reading Reflection for Wednesday, March 26, 2025

Third Week of Lent (Year B) are Deuteronomy 4:1, 5-9 (first reading), Psalm 147:12-13, 15-16, 19-20, and Matthew 5:17-19 (Gospel)

“O Jesus, today’s Gospel declares Thy mission—‘I come not to abolish the law, but to fulfill it.’ Bishop Sheen taught, ‘The law points to Thee, O Lord, as a map to the treasure.’ Deuteronomy bids Israel keep Thy statutes, for Thou art near in every command. St. Charbel lived Thy precepts in his hermitage, a witness to their life. The Lord saith, ‘Whoever keeps these shall be great’—obedience crowns the humble heart. This Lent, heed one small command—love your neighbor as yourself—and so honor Him. Let your life be a living law, written by His hand.”
