“I’m here to do what I’m here to do” is a saying I came up with while dealing with some of the most disturbing things I’ve come across during my nearly half a century on this planet. It acknowledges that doing “the right thing” doesn’t come either fanfare all the time. In fact, it may even have affects/effects that may be dangerous. “No good deed goes unpunished.” As I realized when I was labelled a conscientious objector on my honorable discharge papers from the marine so many years ago.
