(2025.03.26 Update)
The broad aim of these legislative efforts is to render the authority of warning labels into the hands of the federal EPA, which limits liability from lawsuits by injured parties with warning labels. If a product meets EPA labeling standards, manufacturers can't be sued for failure to warn. This essentially nullifies state-level liability claims. Big Ag Corporate Advocates want to save pesticide manufacturers from Million in lawsuit costs (which they declare they put on the backs of farmers to pay for in products). This gives a legal shield to corporations from lawsuits with warning labels, and transfers authority from states rights to federal oversight.
