President Trump should learn from Abraham Lincoln's response to judicial overreach, @josh_hammer tells me.
“There is a genuine separation-of-powers crisis at the moment and it’s coming from these overweening district court judges who are trying to bring the entirety of the federal government to a halt,” Hammer, a former appeals court clerk, says.
He points to Lincoln as an example for Trump.
The 16th president responded to the infamous Supreme Court decision Dred Scott v. Sandford by saying he will respect the ruling when it comes to the parties in the case, but he would defy the horrific ruling that black people have no citizenship in this country.
