As for angling… well, let’s just say the first 6 days were a masterclass in patience. Two in nearly a week? But as this odyssey unfolds, something changes… and let’s just say, my luck takes a serious turn.

🟢 The Journey Begins
• Armed with the biggest backpack and the drive to explore the lay of the land, I set out into the unknown for an 8 night primary directive... to catch trout.
• The beauty is unmatched — stunning canyon walls, murky rivers, a lovely remote lake, small spring-fed streams, and endless skies.
• Wildlife is evident but some stay hidden keeping things exciting — bear, fox, coyote, bobcat, cougar, and wolf scats prove we aren’t alone out here.
• And then there is Ollie — a gift from the universe — always alert, always loyal.

🎣 The Thrill of Catching Fish
• Tiny creek, big possibilities? Holy cow yes! I land some monsters, including a trophy 17-inch Rainbow and a giant two-pound golden yellow Gila.
• John joins in as a surprise guest for the last 4 days, bringing a whole new charm to our escape in the mountains.
• Turns out, John is my lucky rabbit’s foot! The moment he arrives, the stream swimmers practically jump into the net—at this rate, I’m considering bringing him to Vegas.
• A freshwater flyer even bumps John’s leg while he’s standing in the river—either it was trying to surrender, or John has some kind of unexplained aquatic magnetism.

🔥 Cooking Fish in the Wild – Magic Food Alchemy at Its Best
• There’s nothing like a hard-earned camp meal after a full day in the outdoors.
• We go all out & cook deep fried chunky bow, tempura fillet and sweet potato chips, and Cajun southern fried bounty—each bite is a million times better than anything store-bought.
• A little lemon seasoning, a delicate crisp, and bingo — capital meal!
• By the end of dinner, we have food baby bellies, and let me tell you — that hit the spot!

🐍 Amazing Rattlesnake Videos & Dramatics
• Nature always keeps things interesting! Over the course of the outing, I spot:
• 3 Bull-snakes
• 1 Garter Snake
• 2 Rattlesnakes
• The terrain is rocky, the air is fresh, and each moment out here feels exciting.

🔥 Campfire Moments
Sitting by the fire, reflecting on the fun adventures of the day, and just soaking it all in—this is what life is all about.
• The views are awesome, the eating is wicked good, and the experience is one to remember.
• With the cool air, the sound of the water, and Ollie curled up nearby, this is pure wow.
