California's giant 'Glory Hole" has been turned on for the first time in six years. The massive hole, which is located at Lake Berryessa in Napa County, CA, is now active thanks to recent heavy winter rain.

The hole was turned on thanks to six inches of water that exceeded the height of the rim. The water will now make its way to Putah Creek.

The Morning Glory spillway is a "release valve" for the reservoir that gets triggered when water levels exceed 440 feet so the dam doesn't overflow.

The "glory hole" is 72 feet wide. https://x.com/i/status/1904714421513125949
