#1. What could be more relaxing than the sweet chirps, squeaks, purrs, and songs of guinea pigs?

#2. These little guys are NOT your typical rodents, as many think, but are also known as ‘cavies’, in any case they are so doggoned cute!

#3. Imagine a little guy as big as 10 inches long and about 2lb.

#4. They come in your choice of furry design and color.

#5. Their fur comes in swirls, straight, long-haired, and any combination thereof and their personalities are as diverse as their coloration.

#6. They eat, sleep, play, and please. Cheap to keep and infinitely pleasing, this is the way to go.

#7. Okay, so they won’t fetch your slippers or chase a stick. They can’t catch a Frisbee in their mouths.

#8. But they can give love by the bucket load.

#9. A guinea pig lives anywhere from 7~14 years. That’s a long time of loving.

#10. They are low-maintenance when compared to larger house pets such as dogs.

#11. Unlike a dog:

● You don’t have to take them for a walk twice a day.

● You don’t have to bathe them every week.

● They don’t need a ton of vaccinations.

● They won’t bite or bark.

● Food is cheap and they don’t eat a lot. However, they love fresh fruits and veggies.

#12. Kept in a fairly large cage or box, they just want to get out and sprint every once in a while. That keeps them from getting fat.

#13. They just want to be held and cuddled every once in a while. They can’t get enough of that.
