LOST WEEKEND - Mini MTV documentary about a Van Halen contest winner

Today in 1984, Kurt Jefferis, a 20-year-old department-store stock clerk, had bested more than a million other competitors to win the MTV contest “Lost Weekend With Van Halen.”
Before the weekend began, David Lee Roth was quoted as saying “He won’t know what will happen. And when it’s over, he probably won’t be able to remember it anyway.”
The events surrounding the contest unfolded just as Van Halen was first ascending the heights of multiplatinum superstardom but only months before Roth would quit the quartet for a solo career.
Jefferis described the weekend as "buffets of cocaine and naked groupie showers". Jefferis' unforgettable trip has since been immortalized in Lost Weekend, a new documentary filled with stories of MTV's incredible contests.
The event is considered to be one of MTV's greatest promos and played a major role in the success of Van Halen's monumental album 1984 (MCMLXXXIV)
