(The First to Fall)
Text: 1Corinthians 8

Objective: learn to identify weakness on the weak and avoid being one
also to learn from the strong in the faith

Intro:
illustration: I need only to out run you!
general, support, positive, negative mentions of weakness in the bible

Weakness of the weak and how to avoid:

1. Lacks Knowledge with godly Love - vv. 1-6

idols - v. 1 - obvious nonsense and yet many are deceived
know if your knowledge is enough or not enough for any situation
unbelievers lack the Knowledge of the One True and Living God
Accumulate Knowledge of the Word of God and Practice with the Love of God

2. Has Some Knowledge But very weak to Resist Wrong Practices - vv. 7, 11

"with conscience of the idol", "weak brother perish"
Know the danger, avoid and preach against it.

3. Has Weak Conscience - vv. 7, 12

easily swayed and carried away of the wrong doctrine
result = defiled, perish, "to offend"
Strengthen your Conscience by always acknowledging it

Message/conclusion:

Strength in the faith is our goal.
Don't be weak and the first to fall.
