Welcome back to Da Urban Conservative, where we keep it raw, real, and unfiltered. No fluff, no PC policing—just the hard truth about politics, policing, and power moves shaping our communities.

This episode, we’re cutting through the noise on:

1. The Book Ban Ban – Minnesota says you can’t ban books for their ideas, but what’s the catch?

2. Tim Walz’s Town Hall Tour – Is he really offering a better future, or just selling empty promises?

3. Minneapolis Schools on the Chopping Block – Are closures coming? Parents are worried.

4. The Kroll Controversy Revisited – A look back at Lieutenant Bob Kroll’s history of controversy, power, and promotion.

Let’s get into it.

The Book Ban Ban – Free Speech or Political Stunt?

Minnesota passed a law last year that says you cannot ban books in public and school libraries just because of their viewpoint or message. Sounds like a win for free speech, right? But here’s the twist—who decides what counts as a “viewpoint” versus something “harmful” or “inappropriate”?

We know how these culture wars play out. One side screams “censorship” while the other yells “protect the kids!” So, who’s really in charge here? Are we protecting intellectual freedom, or is this just another way to keep political agendas in the classroom?

Meanwhile, some books still disappear from shelves quietly, not by law, but by pressure from activist groups, school boards, and parents. The question is—who’s got the real power in this so-called free speech fight?

Walz Hits the Road – But Where’s He Really Going?

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz rolled into Rochester this weekend, holding a town hall about how Democrats can “offer a better future.” Now, we’ve heard that before. But here’s what’s really going down:

• He took shots at Trump, warning about the former president’s push to dismantle the Department of Education.

• He framed it as a fight for public schools and democracy—but let’s keep it real, this is just campaign season revving up.

• But what’s his actual track record on education? Schools across Minnesota are still underfunded, teachers are leaving, and student achievement gaps aren’t closing fast enough.

So, does Walz really have a plan, or is he just setting up his next election talking points?

Minneapolis School Closures – The Silent Storm Coming?

Minneapolis parents are sweating right now. On Tuesday, school board members will reveal their plans, and while nobody’s confirmed closures, the silence speaks volumes.

• Minneapolis Public Schools are struggling with declining enrollment—meaning less money, fewer teachers, and potentially empty buildings that need to go.

• Parents are worried about which schools could get the axe, and the district isn’t denying that closures are on the table.

• The big question: Who gets shut down? Is it the underfunded, majority-Black schools, or will they spread the pain evenly?

If history tells us anything, Black and brown communities usually take the hardest hit when cuts come. Watch closely—this could be another case of political promises clashing with cold financial decisions.

Kroll the Troll – A Blast from the Past

Now, let’s rewind to 2007, back when Lieutenant Bob Kroll was already making waves in the Minneapolis Police Department.

• He got caught making racist, anti-Muslim comments about Rep. Keith Ellison, calling him a terrorist just because he’s Muslim.

• He trashed city officials, calling them crooks, and even attacked a city coordinator for having a past misdemeanor.

• And what did his bosses do? Nothing. No discipline, no pushback—he just kept climbing the ranks.

Fast forward to today, and the pattern is the same. Every time Kroll stirred controversy, whether it was calling George Floyd a “violent criminal” or backing Trump at police rallies, he never faced real consequences.

So, let’s ask the real question: Was Kroll just a loose cannon, or was he the department’s mouthpiece? A guy who said what the higher-ups were thinking but couldn’t say out loud? Because every time he pushed the limits, he got away with it—and even got promoted.

And if that’s the case, how deep does this rot really go?

Final Take

From book bans to school closures, political power moves, and policing double standards, we’ve got a system where those in power set the rules, bend them, and break them—without consequences.

That’s why Da Urban Conservative exists: to call it like it is.

What do y’all think? Are school closures coming? Is the book ban fight real or just political theater? And was Kroll just a bad cop, or a symptom of a broken system?

Hit us up, drop your thoughts, and stay locked in.

Until next time, keep your eyes open, your mind sharp, and your voice loud.

Peace.
