Let's look at the meaning of the word "surrender of surrendering"
to yield to the power, control, or possession of another upon compulsion or demand.

WHAT DOES SURRENDER MEAN BIBLICALLY?
Surrender is an act of giving up one's will and placing oneself in the hands of God. It's a courageous act of trust and obedience that involves self control and embracing God's plan.
• Trust: Surrender is a leap of faith that God has our best interests at heart.
• Obedience: Surrender involves submitting to God's will and teachings.
• Humility: Surrender is a step of humility that involves admitting sins and trusting God, putting your pride aside trusting that He will take care of things
• Letting go: Surrender involves releasing our attachments, dependencies, and pride.
• Acceptance: Surrender is an internal state of peaceful acceptance.
WHAT DOES SURRENDER MEAN SPIRITUALLY?
Turning over "your ideas", your needs", your old ways, your habits, your opinions, your expectations", and renewing your mind set. Leaning to God waiting patiently for His response and not trying to do things on our own strength and understanding. We should always yield to the spirit of GOD for counsel, guidance, and setting our minds on heavenly things, not earthly things or constant negative thinking. We should pray at all times laying our struggles, burdens and carnal ways of thinking to God. If we dwell to much on negative thinking, this can led to an open door for a spiritual attack. Remember we are in a spiritual battle, but It's not always the enemy, sometimes we need to self reflect, examining ourselves, our ways and our mindsets to see if it's of GOD.
Romans 8:5-6, the phrase "setting your minds heavenly" refers to the idea of focusing our thoughts and our desires on spiritual things rather than worldly pursuits, negativity, essentially meaning to prioritize a mindset aligned with God's will instead of following our own fleshly desires; it emphasizes the importance of living according to the Spirit rather than the desires of the physical body. We are to have a mind of Christ not a mind of self.
KEY POINTS ABOUT THIS CONCEPT:
• Importance of transformation:
In (Romans 8:5-6, ) The verse encourages believers to actively choose to set their minds on heavenly things, which requires a conscious effort to shift their thinking away from earthly desires or earthly ways. In ( Romans 12:2 ) it states; Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what GOD'S will is—, meaning that true change starts with a shift in our thinking, allowing GOD to transform our hearts through His word and the Holy Spirit. This requires a full trust and surrendering to GOD.
• "Mind of the flesh":
This phrase describes a mindset focused on worldly things, often leading to sinful actions such as; anger, bitterness, a lacking of self-control and a lack of spiritual growth. In Romans 12:21- it says; Don't let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good. Meaning that we shouldn't allow anger or bitterness to overtake us. How do we expect to grow spiritually operating in a worldy manner, with fleshly behavior and dwelling on old wounds.
• "Mind of the Spirit":
This represents a mindset aligned with God's will, prioritizing love, peace, and righteousness. ( Romans 8:6 -9 ) states; For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him.
We can all learn and set your hearts and minds on what GOD desires for us by surrendering ourselves fully to Him. A full surrender means completely letting go of control and trusting in Jesus, which can lead to a state of inner peace, joy, and happiness as one aligns themselves with a greater purpose and releases the burdens of worry and self-reliance; essentially finding contentment in God's plan. If we surrender ourselves to GOD, by allowing Him to renew our minds, turning to GOD our LORD and savior Jesus Christ we can truly be at rest with Him without dwelling and overthinking of the bad and negative things revolving the world.
Jesus wants us to be in joy and peace. He died for us so that we can be at rest. If we consisting think on the negative, negative things will happen. We must stop allowing ourselves and situations to be the center of attention. This can be insulting to the most High and it not pleasing to Him. It's like saying our issues are more important than GOD and saying that He isn't capable of fixing it. This way of thinking can be a form of pride and doubt by focusing on "SELF" and doubting the power of GOD.
Let's be humble and grateful for the blessings GOD has given us. Let's surrender ourselves and allow the Holy Spirit to counsel and teach us the fruits, allowing the spirit to flow within us operating; in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness goodness, faithness, gentleness, and self-control.
I pray this study helps many souls on there struggles with surrendering to GOD. I believe this will help with your relationship with GOD. I want to be clear that I am aware that I'm are not perfect and capable of error. If we can trust and allow GOD to take control of our lives by surrender we can be in joy.
Let's trust in the LORD, surrendering to His heart, His will, His desires and allow Him to write our story. He is the author and finisher of our story, allow Him to lead and guide us into all truth and clear our path. He is the GOD of all knowing.
Thank you all for listening. God bless you all.
