The U.S. Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit heard oral argument regarding the Trump administration's request to overturn a judge's temporary restraining order that blocks the deportations of Venezuelan nationals. The administration invoked the rarely-used Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport over 200 people to El Salvador, whom the administration alleged were members of a Venezuelan gang named Tren de Aragua. Judge Patricia Millett criticized the administration's deportations for lack of due process and said, "There were plane loads of people. There were no procedures in place to notify people. ." The DC Circuit's ruling, whether for or against the administration, may be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court
