Events of Red Dead Redemption 2

In the epilogue in 1907, when first entering the town, members of the Del Lobo Gang can be seen demanding the release of a fellow gang member from the office's jail. At gunpoint, Palmer comes out to meet their requirements. When asking for his funds, the leader of the group of four shoots him dead, saying the gang only pays people who continue to be useful. If John is able to save the sheriff by killing the gang members, Palmer thank him and resign his post afterward.
