Meet Esther Crow: Award-Winning Kids’ Musician and Family Entertainer

Welcome to the official channel of Esther Crow—an award-winning singer, songwriter, kids’ entertainer, teacher, caregiver, and sometimes-actor based on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Esther lives in the very apartment where she grew up, surrounded by the musical legacy of her parents, both classical musicians with the Metropolitan Opera. Her childhood was steeped in jazz, classical, rock, and the vibrant street sounds of her culturally rich neighborhood.

After years of writing and performing music with her rock band, The Electric Mess, Esther was inspired to create music for children following the birth of her son, Vincent. She formed a band of talented local musicians called Thunder and Sunshine, and in 2017, released their debut album This is Thunder and Sunshine, earning an Award of Excellence from the Film Advisory Board. The song Monster in the Closet was also named a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition.

In 2021, Esther released her first solo album All Together Now, produced by Grammy-winning engineer Dean Jones, followed by her second album Listen Lead Love in 2023. Her music blends rock energy with messages about animals, the climate, leadership, and seasonal celebrations like Halloween and Christmas.

Esther has performed throughout New York and New Jersey at venues such as Joe’s Pub, Union Square’s Summer in the Square, Brooklyn Public Library, Fort Greene Park, Carl Schurz Park, and many more. She has taught children in schools, preschools, shelters, and public parks, often hosting pop-up shows with proceeds donated to environmental and social causes.

During NYC’s COVID quarantine, Esther began livestreaming regularly on Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook, bringing music and joy into homes everywhere.
