Mass Reading Reflection for Monday, March 24, 2025
Third Week of Lent (Year B) are 2 Kings 5:1-15ab (first reading), Psalm 42:2-3; 43:3-4, and Luke 4:24-30 (Gospel)

“O Jesus, today’s Gospel shows Thee spurned in Nazareth—‘No prophet is accepted at home,’ Thou sayest. Bishop Sheen mused, ‘Familiarity blinds where faith should see.’ In Kings, Naaman scoffs at Thy simple cure, O Lord, yet dips in Jordan and is cleansed. St. Charbel bids you trust His quiet ways today—look past your pride to His grace. The crowd seeks to hurl Thee down, but Thou walkest through—truth stands where scorn falters. This Lent, seek Thy hidden hand, O Lord, in the small and scorned things around you. Let your heart bend low, and find His healing in humble waters.”
