Washington, D.C. – March 24, 2025 – Attorney General Pam Bondi responded to remarks made by Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) regarding Elon Musk during an interview on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo on March 23, 2025. Bondi criticized Crockett for statements made during a virtual rally on March 19, where the congresswoman expressed a desire to see Musk “taken down” on her birthday, March 29.

Bondi stated, “You have this congresswoman Crockett — who is calling for attacks on Elon Musk on her birthday. She needs to tread very carefully. Nothing will happen to Elon Musk, and we’re going to fight to protect all of the Tesla owners throughout this country.” She emphasized a commitment to addressing domestic terrorism and ensuring public safety.

Crockett’s rally comments specified that her intent was non-violent, focusing on economic pressure rather than physical action. She said, “All I want to see happen on my birthday is for Elon to be taken down… The language [those in charge] understand right now is money… Everything that I am promoting is nonviolent.”

Later on March 23, Crockett appeared on MSNBC with Alex Witt, denying any promotion of violence. She stated, “I have never promoted violence whatsoever,” and referenced the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack, suggesting Bondi address related concerns with President Donald Trump regarding individuals involved in that event.

The exchange follows Crockett’s role on the DOGE Oversight Committee and her broader comments on democracy and freedom during the rally. Neither Bondi nor Crockett indicated specific actions planned in response to the ongoing dispute.
