The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings - Part Six
With the help of SÃle de Tansarville, the monstrous kayran was finally slain after a brutal fight. A visit to the merchant by the waterfront rewarded us with a full pouch of orens, hard-earned coin for a deadly contract. With the beast gone, Flotsam’s people could breathe easy, and merchants were free to move once more. For a moment, it all felt like the old days, before witchers found themselves tangled in politics and power struggles.
But peace never lasts long. Interrogating the Scoia’tael prisoner Ciaran stirred something deep in Geralt, triggering unsettling echoes from a past still locked away in his mind. Noticing his distress, Triss Merigold insisted they seek a Rose of Remembrance, a powerful flower said to awaken long-lost memories.
Their search led them to ancient elven ruins, where they found the mystical flower—seemingly ordinary, yet undeniably tied to Geralt’s buried past. The moment was personal, even intimate, but it didn’t last. A gang of grave robbers appeared, provoking Triss and igniting a tense battle.
Just when things seemed under control, the ground collapsed beneath them. Geralt and Triss fell into a hidden elven bathhouse, beautifully preserved yet long forgotten. Still, there was no time to admire its splendor. Surrounded by the weight of history and raw emotion, the two finally had a much-needed heart-to-heart.
Triss spoke of abandoning it all, fleeing, starting fresh, leaving the chaos behind. But Geralt’s sense of duty pulled him back. He still had a debt to repay to Vernon Roche, and before anything else, that had to come first.
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings (Polish: Wiedźmin 2: Zabójcy Królów) is a 2011 action role-playing game developed by CD Projekt Red, based on Andrzej Sapkowski's fantasy novels. As a sequel to the 2007 game The Witcher, it continues the saga of Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter known as a Witcher. Released for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, OS X, and Linux, the game immerses players in a richly detailed world inspired by Polish history and Slavic mythology. By September 2014, it had sold over 8 million copies, cementing its status as both a critical and commercial success. The series' acclaim continued with the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in May 2015.
