This is MY FAVORITE Mission in Halo 3: ODST!

Thirty minutes after the disastrous drop over New Mombasa, ODST Dutch finds himself in the Uplift Reserve, a nature preserve now overrun by Covenant forces. With the city in chaos and no contact with his squad, Dutch links up with a group of stranded Marines attempting to push toward the Covenant supercarrier’s landing zone. Their goal: break through the Covenant defenses and take the fight to the enemy.

However, the battle takes a devastating turn when the massive orbital space elevator, destabilized by the carrier’s slipspace jump, begins to collapse. The towering structure crashes down across the Uplift Reserve and into the heart of the city, sending shockwaves through the battlefield and cutting off any hope of reinforcing the Marines inside. With their original mission now impossible, Dutch is ordered to blast open an exit in the reserve’s perimeter wall. Armed with explosives and commandeering a Warthog, he and the remaining Marines punch through Covenant lines, making a daring escape into the ruins of New Mombasa.

Now loose in the city, Dutch’s only objective is to regroup with the rest of Kilo-9. But with the Covenant tightening their grip and the fate of his squad still uncertain, survival won’t be easy. The battle for New Mombasa is just beginning.
