In a fiercely contested championship final, both teams showcased tremendous skill and passion. The Jefferson Falcon Freeze (JFF) had numerous standout moments that could have secured a win. However, controversy struck at the 35-minute mark.

At this critical moment, a contentious call unfolded near the JFF bench. Although the play wasn’t clearly captured on video due to its location—right next to where our players and coaches were standing—eyewitnesses from the bench saw exactly who was the last to touch the ball as it went off the field. Despite clear observations, the referee erroneously awarded possession to Mount Olive Tornados (MOT), creating confusion and chaos. When we protested, the ref dismissively said, “let’s say you are right.”

While this decision cost us the game, it has provided our team with a valuable lesson about the challenges of inconsistent officiating. We remain proud of our performance and are determined to grow stronger from this experience.
