The Gospel Benediction – Galatians 6:16–18

In this brief excerpt from the course, Grace, Not Law: Galatians, Dr. Barber discusses our Apostle Paul's final words to Christians, members of the Mystery Body of Christ, in his letter to Galatia.

He reminds us Christians that peace and mercy is found in Jesus as we stand in grace and walk in the Spirit, not returning to the corrupt works of the flesh, which include legalism and false works righteousness.

He reminds us Christians that we are NOT "the Israel of God." The Israel of God is the prophesied believing Remnant of Israel of the past Acts period and of the future Tribulation period. Today, there is no Israel of God to speak of. Rather, today there is Israel in unbelief, and there is the Body of Christ.

Finally, our Apostle Paul closes by reminding us that He is the one Apostle of the one Mystery Body of Christ, evidenced by his many scars, his "marks" of the LORD Jesus Christ.

Are you standing in grace and walking in the Spirit? Do you know who you are, that you're not Israel, but a member of Jesus' Body? Do you know that Apostle Paul is your Spiritual father and model, rather than the Twelve Apostles of Israel?
