Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Gatwick and Shannon have so far received the most diverted flights.

Gatwick Airport accepted seven diverted flights from locations including Singapore, Johannesburg, Lagos, Cape Town, and Doha which were originally destined for Heathrow.

Birmingham Airport said it will receive any diverted flights from Heathrow and help to transport any stranded customers. London Stansted said the airport had the capacity for “a small number of diverts” from Heathrow but has not yet received any requests.
