Nature’s medicine⬇️

I still have dandelions popping up through my yard and I am so grateful for that because I now see THE TRUTH.

Don’t you find it intriguing that an abundant plant such as a dandelion is framed to be a villain? So much so that we are trained to believe (or coerced through an HOA) that we need to spray our dandelions with TOXIC CHEMICALS to eliminate them?

Why the war on dandelions…?

When you spray dandelions, you are hurting the bees who use dandelions as an early source of pollen coming out of winter. I watch this as my bees emerge from their hives in the spring. A study from the University of Texas showed the chemical in these toxic sprays disrupt the bee’s gut microbiome, making them more susceptible to infections. Other studies showed their cognitive function being affected….and we wonder why the bees are disappearing!

Dandelions are rich in vitamins and minerals. The leaves are full of vitamins A, C, and K along with calcium, iron, magnesium, and potassium - perfect for a salad. Dandelion root is often utilized to support liver function and detoxification - I often make and drink dandelion root tea during spring. The flowers have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. I use them in smoothies!

ASK QUESTIONS. There is a war on our food, and the example of what has been going on with dandelions (a readily available food easily grown in yards without maintenance) is a prime example.

What do you think?

Dandelion tea:

1-2 teaspoons of dandelion root
1 cup water
Honey for sweetening (it’s butter)

Steep the roots in hot water for 10-15 minutes. Simple as that!
