Mass Reading Reflection for Saturday, March 22, 2025

Catholic Mass reading for the Saturday of the Second Week of Lent (Year B) is Luke 15:1-3, 11-32,
with the first reading from Micah 7:14-15, 18-20 and Psalm 103:1-4, 9-12.

“O Jesus, today’s Gospel sings of the prodigal son—lost, he returns to a Father’s arms. Bishop Sheen proclaimed, ‘God runs faster to the sinner than the sinner to Him.’ Micah cries, ‘Who is like Thee, O Lord, pardoning iniquity?’—Thy mercy drowns our shame. St. Charbel, who fled worldly waste, bids you embrace one soul you’ve judged today. The Lord waits with a ring and robe, for Thou, O God, art love beyond measure. This Lent, cast off your elder brother’s frown—forgive as He doth. Step into His joy, and let your heart dance with the repentant.”
