John chapter 2 is about the cleansing of the Temple. This is a prophetic picture of bringing reformation to the church. The Temple in the Old Covenant represents God’s house, or the church in the New Testament. “Do you not know that you are the Temple of the Holy Spirit?”
Three major truths:
1. The cleansing of the temple reveals God’s passion and love for his house.
2. Reform for God’s house is by the power of the gospel —Jesus’ death and resurrection.
3. Reform for God's house begins when people really commit their lives to Jesus.
