A Legacy Worth Remembering – Deut. Chpt. 34

We have finally reached the end of Deuteronomy. This final chapter speaks of Moses' death and burial. It also speaks of his legacy. Needless to say that his legacy is one worth remembering – so much so that God saw fit to record the most important events in Moses' life in the Scriptures. Realizing this got me thinking about my own legacy.

I've thought about my legacy before, but just in terms of what it might be. But as I read chapter 34, I realized that I will leave a legacy one way or another. Will it be worth remembering? Will I leave my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren an example they can follow? Will my legacy inspire them to chase after the LORD? I hope so. I want to leave behind something worth remembering. But I can't just hope for it. I have to lead by example as long as I'm alive.
