The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings - Part Five

While passing through town, we learned that the local port was under siege by a monstrous creature known as the kayran. No one could leave until it was dealt with. During this crisis, the Witcher crossed paths with the powerful sorceress Síle de Tansarville, who was also on the hunt for the beast.

Later, after the chaos at the gallows had settled, Commandant Loredo extended an invitation to talk. While witchers aren’t known to turn down free lodging, the meeting also offered a chance to feel out the man in charge. Joined by Vernon Roche, we approached Loredo’s estate. Though it quickly became clear this wasn’t just a casual visit. Roche had his own agenda: digging up information on the kingslayer.

During the meeting, Loredo made the Witcher a bold offer: capture Iorveth, the elusive Scoia’tael leader, to repay the debt owed from the gallows incident. Considering that even an entire military garrison had failed to capture him, the task was clearly monumental. But staying true to the Witcher’s code, we refused.

Loredo didn’t take the refusal well. As we walked away from his manor, one thing was certain. We may have just made a dangerous new enemy.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings (Polish: Wiedźmin 2: Zabójcy Królów) is a 2011 action role-playing game developed by CD Projekt Red, based on Andrzej Sapkowski's fantasy novels. As a sequel to the 2007 game The Witcher, it continues the saga of Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter known as a Witcher. Released for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, OS X, and Linux, the game immerses players in a richly detailed world inspired by Polish history and Slavic mythology. By September 2014, it had sold over 8 million copies, cementing its status as both a critical and commercial success. The series' acclaim continued with the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in May 2015.
