AGENT X11: EP 165: SKIP PRESS: AMERICA'S GOLDEN EON A.G.E.
In this episode we talk about the Adams family, no not Lurch, pugsley and Wednesday, but Samuel Adams, John Adams and John Quincey Adams.
FROM WIKI:
Samuel Adams (1722-1803) Samuel Adams was one of Boston's most prominent revolutionary leaders. He was known for his ability to harness popular resentment against Parliament's authority to tax the colonies in a productive manner. His role in the origins of the American War of Independence cannot be understated.
After the Boston Massacre, Samuel Adams, a key figure in the Sons of Liberty and a leader of the revolutionary movement, used the event as a powerful propaganda tool to galvanize colonial sentiment against British rule, calling it a "horrid massacre" and orchestrating a funeral procession to memorialize the victims.
John Adams (October 30, 1735 – July 4, 1826) was an American Founding Father who was the second president of the United States from 1797 to 1801. Before his presidency, he was a leader of the American Revolution that achieved independence from Great Britain. During the latter part of the Revolutionary War and in the early years of the new nation, he served the U.S. government as a senior diplomat in Europe. Adams was the first person to hold the office of vice president of the United States, serving from 1789 to 1797. He was a dedicated diarist and regularly corresponded with important contemporaries, including his wife and adviser Abigail Adams and his friend and political rival Thomas Jefferson.
John Quincy Adams (/ˈkwɪnzi/ ⓘ;[a] July 11, 1767 – February 23, 1848) was the sixth president of the United States, serving from 1825 to 1829. He previously served as the eighth United States secretary of state from 1817 to 1825. During his long diplomatic and political career, Adams served as an ambassador and also as a member of the United States Congress representing Massachusetts in both chambers. He was the eldest son of John Adams, who served as the second president of the United States from 1797 to 1801, and First Lady Abigail Adams. Initially a Federalist like his father, he won election to the presidency as a member of the Democratic-Republican Party, and later, in the mid-1830s, became affiliated with the Whig Party.
