Jared Kushi is a Japanese local boy from the Big Island of Hawai’i. He is the CEO and co-founder of Hawaiiverse, the largest online local coupon directory which was voted as the HVCA’s 2022 People’s choice of startup paradise. He is also the CEO of Koosh Media, an agency that helps local businesses scale using targeted online ads and an automation capture system used by global high growth companies. This entrepreneur also co-founded and served as the Chief Operating Officer at LifeDNA, a genetic based health and wellness company. He also served as a Program director at Blue Startups and Operations Manager at Hawaii Angels. There he was a key factor in vetting over 2000 companies and investing in over 60, which gave him an inside look at the Startup landscape. He has been featured in articles by multiple publications such as HI Luxury Magazine and Hawai'i Business Magazine and was a finalist as Tech Entrepreneur of the Year in Hawai'i. Oh and he also has 4 degrees in Entrepreneurship, Management, Finance, and International Business. In this episode we talk about growing up in Hilo, how he got into business, Hawaiiverse, how we met, starting the Hawaiiverse podcast and why we changed it to Keep it Aloha, and so much more. Enjoy!
